About the only thing mentioned during ward round was to try to start getting me mobilised. I had the catheter partly removed this morning so I just had a “flip-flop” tube, to make sure I still have bladder control before they remove the whole thing. All seemed ok so they took the catheter out completely in the afternoon. I still haven’t seen the physio again yet so they are not getting me moving very much – basically just bed to chair, chair to bed and a couple of trips being wheeled down to the loo. As Southampton sites go, it’s not the greatest visitor attraction, but I’ll take the change of scenery when I can get it.
My temperature seems to have settled down at last and my BP is ok (at one point they even talked about it being a bit low given my circumstances). My pulse is still a bit high, and my sats a bit low, but nothing they seem worried about. No catheter also means no more antibiotics.
Nice to see a few faces from work again, and the treat quality must’ve hit a peek. I thought someone had brought me a piece of carrot cake, and it was only after they left that I realised they had brought the whole cake! I guess I should share that. 🍰
Being someone who has their finger on the pulse of popular culture, I started watching series one of Broadchurch today. Gripping stuff – I’m surprised it didn’t get more attention. 😊
I didn’t think patient A could get any worse, but they consistently prove me wrong. Apparently the rest of us in the bay are lucky because we’ve had surgery and now we’re going to get better, whereas they don’t know how to treat his pain. I’m sure they guy who has found he has MS is glad to hear he’ll be fine now he’s had surgery, as will the guy who they can’t be sure they’ve managed to remove all the splinters of his broken disk. 😡
