First few days recovering at home

I’ve tried to keep to a fairly strict routine, doing my exercises a couple of times a day, resting (playing Xbox! 😀) going out for short walks – initially just up and down our road, no more than a couple of hundred metres from the house at any time, but in the last day or so I’ve ventured around the short block – and generally taking things very easy. C has been amazing helping me, despite her own health issues.

Sleep hasn’t been too bad on the whole. I tend to wake a few times each night and change position, which hurts a lot, but the times I’ve slept for longer I’ve found I get very stiff and moving then becomes a real problem, so I’ll put up with the occasional pain from changing position. Thankfully I seem to go back to sleep fairly quickly.

I’m fairly sure my recovery is going much better than last summer. I don’t feel particularly great, but then I can’t say I feel particularly ill either. On the negative side, I do have most of the symptoms back again already. The hypersensitivity isn’t quite as full-on as it was before surgery, and the pins & needles/electric shock feeling in my right foot is still there but I think has lessened.
