First week back at work

On the whole I think my first week back at work went ok. Having been in the office on Monday morning I did the same on Tuesday, although much of the morning was in a meeting room and, whilst I wasn’t too bad at the time, I don’t think the chair really supported me that well.

I took Wednesday off and just pottered around at home most of the day.  On Thursday morning I felt pretty awful; quite a bit of pain and generally feeling very run down again. I was due to be interviewing all day so got in to work around 9. Due to cancellations I didn’t actually start interviewing until around midday and finished a little after 5. Given that I was using someone else’s office and consequently their chair, I felt ok when I left work.

Friday was another day of interviews, this time in one of our meeting rooms where the chairs are not great. As it turned out we only actually interviewed 2 people so thankfully I wasn’t sat there for too long. I left work about 3ish and came home to continue working for a few hours.

Saturday I felt ok when I woke up apart from the usual stiff left leg and mild back pain wher it tends to stiffen up overnight. We went into town for about 3 hours in the afternoon and I felt fine walking around.  Sunday was a different matter though. I’d not been very good overnight trying to get comfortable, and when I awoke properly I was in agony with my back and really stiff legs. The legs wore off reasonably quickly but the back pain continued. I think it’s the first time in a couple of weeks I’ve needed to take tramadol in the middle of the day.  Thankfully it had started to ease by the evening and I was able to sleep reasonably well, although didn’t actually get to sleep until well gone 1am – unusual for me since I’ve been taking the higher dose of amitriptyline along with the tramadol in the evening.
