A copy of the report from my latest MRI has been sent through to my on-line account and it doesn’t make particularly easy reading. My spinal cord has once again deviated and adhered itself, so I appear to basically back to where I was pre the 2nd op. The cerebral spinal fluid flow study shows that there appear to be pockets of fluid collecting around the area, and rather than the CSF flow being in a downward direction, it is described as “turbulent”. I am waiting for the surgeon to review the report and will presumably have a further appointment to discuss what happens next.
We continued our sight-seeing in Cornwall with a trip to Lands End on Wednesday. I was using the buggy as a make shift Zimmer frame again and was fine walking around until we came to a bit of a downward slope. It was a bit steeper than other places we’d walked, but nothing too steep and yet, as soon as I took one step on the slope, I felt as if I was going to end up going down it uncontrollably, complete with buggy, and had to stop and ask Sophie to take the buggy whilst I walked down the nearby steps.
By the evening I was in quite a bit of pain again, but certainly not enough to make me feel like I was regretting doing the walking etc I’ve done over the last few days. The positive feelings from days out with family far outweigh the pain.
Yesterday we had a relatively chilled morning, and then I drove back to Southampton in the afternoon. Once again the drive was ok, and it was only in the last 20 minutes or so that I started feeling much discomfort.
