This week has seen the one year anniversary since my second op and has been a bad week in terms of pain management. Wednesday I got to the point where I had to walk out of a meeting temporarily because I couldn’t cope (it was a budget meeting so maybe that was what I couldn’t cope with!😲)
GP on Monday told me there was nothing more she can suggest without putting me back on opiate based meds (which I came off after 10 months because they didn’t seem to be doing anything other than giving me unwelcome side-effects). Best she could offer was a top up dose of gabapentin to take as needed, on top of the 3*600mg I already take each day. Last night I resorted to that, although I’m not sure it helped. Like the GP, I now have my hopes pinned on getting a positive outcome from my appointment on Friday for a second opinion from the neurosurgeon in London.
