Infuriating GP receptionist … again

I got the incredibly unhelpful receptionist again when I rang the surgery this morning. When I saw Dr Penny 2 weeks ago she asked me to make an appointment to see her again in 4-5 weeks to see how I get on with the new blood pressure meds. I went straight to reception only to be told they couldn’t book an appointment that far ahead, and I should call back in a couple of weeks. Ok, so I actually left it 2 days over that 2 weeks, but when I asked for to see Dr Penny either the week beginning 21st or 28th May, I was told I could see her on June 15th – more than 7 weeks after my last appointment! After yet another complaint about their booking system, I asked if I could see another GP any sooner. “Oh, well if you’re not bothered about seeing Dr Penny, we can get you in sooner.” She then offered me an appointment one day earlier. Absolute bloody joke. I again pointed out that I will, in fact, have run out of the new meds by then and Dr Penny didn’t want to give more without checking how I’ve got on, so the receptionist reluctantly offered me a telephone appointment on May 30th. Presumably they’ll be able to make an educated guess at what my blood pressure over the phone! 🤔
