This week has been a particularly bad one. I thought I’d learnt from previous episodes of doing gardening and DIY, and so, with a number of things to sort around the house, I took a long weekend to pace myself and have time to recover before going back to work. However by late Monday afternoon I was in absolute agony and the pain relief didn’t seem to be making any difference. I did eventually get to sleep, but Tuesday morning I felt awful. The pain had finally subsided quite a bit, but was still worse than normal. This has continued throughout the week. Whilst thankfully generally short-lived, I have quite frequent periods of quite excruciating pain down my right side, emanating from my right shoulder blade but going round to the right extremity of my chest. As I write this it feels like someone is repeatedly cutting me open from a couple of inches below my right armpit to the bottom of my rib cage.
Meanwhile, I had another podiatry review on Monday. The second toe they sorted and dressed the last time had recovered well, but the big toe I originally saw them about flared up again, this time on the outside edge, so they dealt with that and dressed it. When I removed the dressing yesterday, it hadn’t healed as well as the other toe did but didn’t look too bad. I redressed it, but it has become quite sensitive, so I’ll have to see what it’s like when I redress it again. I am being reviewed by the podiatrist every 3-4 weeks until I’m seen at the hospital.
