People develop habits as they grow older, and sometimes like to go back to the same places to celebrate events in their life. Well apparently I’ve selected bed 11 on D Neuro as my go-to birthday location. It’s not so bad though. Better than my 21st which I spent on a saline drip after my appendix burst the night before, but I can definitely think of better places to be.
The pain is manageable since coming off the morphine pump yesterday. I’ve had assorted top-ups of my usual meds, and now that I’ve had a wash I can have another lidocaine patch on soon. The main problem for now is trying to get my bowels working again. Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing loved ones again this afternoon and evening.
