Day of surgery

Admitted to ward at 07:30.  Potential I would not be operated on as there had been a problem in one of the operating theatres yesterday (my boss had been aware and had been in touch with with the Chief Operating Officer to see if I could be kept as a priority).  Mr Sepahi told me during his ward round that, due to the nature of my op I needed to be done in the emergency theatre as the usual one was out of action, but if an emergency came in I would have to be rescheduled.  Thankfully that didn’t happen and I was taken to theatre around lunch time.

Back on the ward early evening.  My catheter had leaked so my bed needed changing.  As they started to change the sheet my immediate reaction was that it would set my right leg off as the sheet was pulled over my foot, but I was pleasantly surprised to not have the hypersensitivity.  A real boost to seemingly have improvement so quickly.

Reasonably settled on the ward.
