Didn’t really think to make much of a record whilst on the ward, or in the coming weeks, but from recollection…
Day after surgery (Thursday) was spent in bed taking regular pain relief.
During ward rounds on Friday they were already talking about me possibly being discharged on Saturday. Spent some time out of bed and had the catheter removed. Physiotherapist came and left me some sheets with exercises to do when I get home, but told not to start yet as too soon. Was taken for a short walk around the ward and then spent most of the day sat in a chair.

Saturday morning it was confirmed I would be discharged that day. A different physiotherapist came to see how I was getting on. Asked if I had been doing the exercises – despite being told the day before not to start them yet! Went for a walk out of the ward and half way down the stairs to make sure I could do stairs at home, and was cleared to go home. After a bit of a mix up around my take out medications, whereby I was initially prescribed co-codamol despite having told them it gives me stomach cramps, I was eventually discharged late afternoon.
