To MRI or not to MRI?

Slept well last night. I think the meds had built up enough to keep me going, and probably just completely knackered from the previous 48 hours. Suffice to say that the doctors were not impressed that my MRI had been cancelled, as they routinely scan their neuro patients straight after surgery, and they all have clips in.  Evidently it is fine as long as certain precautions are taken.

Had some visitors from work again today. Always nice to see people, and the stakes are being raised in terms of bringing me treats! 😀

I was taken down for the MRI in the evening. It would seem the precautions are to put the cool air blower on full, and put a cold wet towel under the wound to keep the  staples cool, as the concern is about them heating up rather than anything to do with the magnets.

Today has been brought to you courtesy of 3 * 1000mg of paracetamol, 4 * 100mg of tramadol, 3 * 10ml of oral morphine and 50mg of amitriptyline. The only thing that could’ve made me more comfortable would be a tranquilliser to one of the other patients. I have always had the greatest admiration for our nursing colleagues, but when you see them having to put up with the sort of crap he was throwing at them, you really wonder how they remain calm.
