GP check and quick trip to hospital

I saw a different GP today so she didn’t have the benefit of previous assessments but she did some neurological checks, all of which fell in to the “normal for Ian” category.  She was also of the opinion that the base of the wound looked red and hot and thus still carrying an infection so she contacted the on-call neurosurgery registrar at the hospital who advised I should go in to be checked.  I went to the Wessex Neurological Centre and was seen by the registrar who the GP had spoken to.  She wasn’t too concerned at what she found but ran some blood tests and general observations. Temperature, sats and blood pressure were all pretty much normal.  The blood tests were put through as an urgent request so I only had to wait an ha ur or so to get the results.  They were all normal so the registrar was confident that there was no infection after all.  The feeling of grogginess and general lethargy etc is most probably just the body reacting to the major surgery.  She said it is still releatvie early days following the operation (6 weeks to the day) and I can expect to have rough periods, but getting myself checked was absolutely the right thing to do.  She is going to arrange for me to be seen by Mr S’s registrar next week, to make sure things are progressing well.
