Round up of the past week

I never did start laying the floor last weekend. I did start to feel a bit better as Saturday went on, but didn't feel in the mood to start sorting out the mitre saw I had bought to make the job easier, let alone actually start doing the flooring. We had quite a chilled weekend in fact, and on Sunday afternoon took advantage of the decent weather to get out in the garden and do some tidying up. I tried doing the strimming to start with, but even though our strimmer is quite a light one, I still could feel the effect it was having moving it around, so I left the strimming to Cat, whilst I started to clear weeds from the path. Even that was a bit of a struggle. I seem to be ok bending down or getting on my hands and knees to do that sort of thing, but getting back up is really difficult, and it's painful trying to move around on my knees. Eventually I gave up and took over mowing the lawn. That seemed fine as I could keep going in straight lines, and I could use the mower as a walking aid.

Monday morning I was more stiff than usual, and ic was more achy, but I expected that after the gardening. Tuesday I was worse though, and by Wednesday morning I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get out of bed. Not only did I hurt in several places, I felt generally rough. I made it to work, but I certainly didn't feel I was going to be able to get to my gym session at lunch time, so I rearranged it. Unfortunately the next time I can be fitted in is Monday.

By Thursday I was starting to feel a bit more normal. The numbness around my chest seems to have remained in about the same place, and the stabbing pains in the right side of my chest and back seem to be less frequent and less severe. I worked at home for the day, making sure I had regular stretches and walks around – something I seem to forget more when I'm at home.

On Saturday we went for lunch with Mum & Keith, followed by a walk around Hythe. I felt ok walking out part way along the marina, and we stopped near the end and sat for a while. On the way back I felt quite wobbly again, and my pain level increased. We went into town on Sunday to do a few things, and I was fine walking around, and I would say I've had a normal evening.
