What?! Now the dentist wants to do stuff to me

Monday’s gym session went well I think.  I mentioned I still have real problems getting up from chairs some times, particularly in the evenings.  I get part way up and my legs either give way or go stiff and I struggle to get fully upright.  Katrina got me practicing repeated standing up and sitting down without using my hands to push myself up.  It felt really weird to start with, and I kept feeling like I could fall backwards and not know if I was still near the chair. She said this was consistent with what I’d been saying about problems on the stairs quite often.  It’s all about my proprioception, and the exercises should help with that.  The stairs problem has been getting quite odd recently.  I’ve had a few instances where I’ve got part way up the stairs – 3 or 4 steps up – and then suddenly my legs just don’t want to go any further.  I did some more up and down a single step, and the balance board again, which I definitely think I’m getting a bit more control over.

I had a check up with the dentist yesterday and he thinks it’s time to do something about the upper right side of my mouth.  To be fair, it has been over two years since he put the temporary crown in, and has been telling me for a while that it is probably going to need implants or a denture.  Great, just what I need right now.  I explained about my latest MRI report and that I was waiting to see the consultant again to see what, if anything, the next course of action would be, so the dentist is going to hold off until my next check up.
