Missing the amitriptyline?

It’s now been 3 nights since I stopped the amitriptyline and have only been taking the gabapentin for the nerve issues, but I’m definitely seeing a return to the foot problems. Yesterday morning I had a rough start anyway, with a lot more pain than normal so I took an extra tramadol.  It did improve over the morning and by lunchtime I felt fairly normal. By the time I left work though my legs were all over the place and the pain was back. It probably  wasn’t helped by the fact I forgot to take gabapentin in the morning so had it at lunch time, hence didn’t have my lunch dose until around 4, and had also missed a dose of paracetamol.

Last night my foot was particularly bad. Having only told my daughter in the afternoon how the combination of meds I’m on – pretty much all of which seem to state drowsiness as a possible side effect – were at least helping me sleep. However, last night I was still awake approaching 3am, and I’ve been awake since not long after 5am. There’s a chance of course that I’m restless because today is the anniversary of my late wife’s death, so this time of year is never the easiest.

My legs are very wobbly again this morning and the temptation to just plonk myself in front of the Xbox is, I have to admit, pretty strong. However, that won’t really help, and anyway, today is the first time in a number of years that I’m able to get to the crematorium at a time the remembrance book will be open.
