Worse week in a long while

The weekend was what I’ve come to regard as normal. In fact I felt reasonably good on Sunday and got quite a few things done around the house. In the afternoon Cat and I went in the garden to tackle the mountain of leaves that seemed to be just about everywhere. I suppose it was inevitable therefore that I was feeling pretty sore on Monday. Still, the luxury of a 1 day week saw me through.

Monday night was rough. I’d been disturbed most of the night and woke properly around 5am with a combination of both intense pain between my shoulder blades as well as the short, sharp stabbing pains all around my upper torso – like having needles repeatedly stabbed into me. Consequently we didn’t exactly do much, which was a pity given that it was Cat’s birthday. By the evening I was starting to feel a little better and was able to sit and watch a film without constantly trying to get comfortable.

Yesterday wasn’t too bad to start with. We mostly pottered about the house in the morning. Mid afternoon we went to take the dog for a walk in the woods. I’d barely been out for 10 minutes when the pain got bad again and my balance was not good. We bumped into another dog walker we know who was on his way back to the car, and having got chatting to him, I walked back to the car with him whilst Cat took Bertie for the rest of his walk. I was supposed to meet a friend for a much overdue catch-up in the evening but didn’t feel up to it so had to postpone. By the time I came to bed I was really uncomfortable again, with stomach cramps adding to the back pain, and it took a long time to get to sleep. I then woke up again not long after 4am in extreme pain and sweating – despite the room being cold. My sinuses are bad which doesn’t help. I normally take my morning meds at 7am but took them at 5.50 in the hope they provide some relief. Waiting for them to kick in now.
