Report from neurology

I received a copy of the clinic letter from Dr Patel.  She confirmed a diagnosis of Brown-Séquard’s syndrome.  Her findings were:

  • Allodynia in the right heel
  • Paraesthesia from the right foot to the right hip
  • Normal cranial nerves
  • Left leg weakness grade 4/5 in the left leg with spasticity and sustained clonus
  • Proximal weakness in the right leg but otherwise distally power is 5/5 in the right leg
  • Hyper-reflexic in the left leg with an extensor plantar
  • Pinprick sensation dulled in the right leg at level of T8
  • Normal pinprick sensation in the left leg

Arms are strong and joint position and vibration sense intact.
