GP review

I saw Dr Penny this morning and had a really good discussion about the pain clinic. She said the chronic pain team deal with people who it is not felt surgery is an option. Because of that she feels they would reject a referral. However, there is also a pain physio clinic that might be able to help. Having chatted about it some more, we decided it is worth seeing if I can be reviewed by physio at SGH as they are more likely to have specialists and access to my notes etc. I think I can self-refer again as an employee, but if not I’ll ask Mr Sepahi to refer me again.

Alternatives are to consider things like opioids in the form of patches, but these carry the same risks of becoming used to them, and also becoming addicted. Best course of action for now then is to see about physio, and what the outcome of the Queen’s Square review is.

Dr Penny checked the notes sent from QS to Dr Hashemi, and there was a report from an MDT meeting that had taken place about May 22nd. This confirmed that the images from December were unclear, and thus they would need to wait for further imaging, but the treatment plan said that further surgery is likely.
