I got back from Cornwall to find I have an appointment with neuro in Southampton the week after my appointment in London. It doesn’t specifically say it is with Mr Sepahi, so I suspect (and in many ways hope) it might be with their specialist physio, as I’ve not heard anymore about my referral yet.
On Monday I then got a couple of letters from the treatment centre to say I had my orthopaedic pre-assessment appointments for my nails on Monday 10th.
I had an appointment back at the GP surgery on Saturday to check my thumb over. It was definitely improved but still looked quite bad, so they dressed it again and asked me to go back on Thursday. By Thursday it was looking much better. Still some over granulation, but the HCA felt it was probably better to leave it open and get some air to it, and only cover it if I’m doing something that might mean it got snagged, or there’s a risk of getting something in it.
As expected it’s been a crazy week. Work has been full-on, and there’s been lots to sort out for the house sale and purchase. Using an online conveyancer is so convenient, but there is still the same amount of paperwork to get through.
I went back to podiatry on Tuesday and my toes are looking ok. She said the fact I spent much of last week either bare foot or with open shoes on would’ve helped, so to keep an eye on things now I’m wearing work shoes again. She doesn’t feel I need to keep coming back though, but has left me on an open return for 12 months so I can just ring up and make an appointment if I have any problems. She also suggested I ask them in orthopaedics about my finger nails as my thumb has been a problem.
I went out and strimmed and cut the grass yesterday. I didn’t feel too bad for most of it, but by the time I came to empty the last lot from the mower I felt completely broken and had to go for a lie down for an hour or so and watched some TV. The pain relief had kicked in by the time I went to bed and I wasn’t feeling quite as bad, but then given that I woke in pain soon after 3am and I haven’t been able to get back to sleep, is not a great sign.
