I’m not sure what’s been going on over the last few days, but my legs have been feeling like they’re someone else’s, and I’ve come out on the wrong end of a swap. Apart from feeling like lead weights, I’ve been even more wobbly than usual. We took the dog for a walk around the smaller of Testwood lakes late on Sunday afternoon, once I felt like my legs would get me further than the front door. I made it round the lake, but it was a real struggle and I was all over the place. Nearly an hour to walk just over a mile, and my normal pace is around 5mph. When I’m got back I had a look at my heart rate and found it had peeked at around 160BPM during the walk.
Yesterday wasn’t much better and I stayed indoors all day (although that was partly due to one of my team heads coming round for a pre-arranged work catch-up).
I had another restless night last night, although I’m not entirely sure that was down to either my legs nor my back, as I’m not aware I was in any particularly increased pain. I still don’t feel like I could walk very far. We’re going to pop out to get a bit of lunch, and then this afternoon we will go to the pool. Hopefully walking in water will be somewhat easier.
Hopefully it’s 2 steps forward one back, and this is just a phase that you have a little regression. That will just need a few days to settle.
I think you’re right. The thing is I am physically as well as figuratively taking 2 steps forward and one back most of the time at the mo. I suspect people look at Cat and think “what’s that young woman doing with the old drunk?”! 😧
